What I do

Lantern and Stave is about connecting with others in their time of loss

I will try to use my life experience and what I have learned from others, to provide a practical approach to counselling.

There are many services available that offer assistance in the form of treatment, programs and therapy. Over the years, I have seen many people try various approaches when dealing with their problems and have seen all sorts of results. Based on my experience I have also noticed a lack of relationship building which results in a loss of community which in turn causes well being issues. My approach is to have a space for people to lean on and to help shine a light in their darkest moments. A supportive place that is compassionate, understanding, empathetic, respectful and honest. A place to start a discussion about various types of loss and their effects such as bereavement, grief, fatigue, stress, burnout and how it affects our relationships. I would like to do this through counselling by simply having discussions. I also have a blog where I share experiences and stories of myself and others around me. I would like to share resources, tools and anything else that I have learned along the way. I would like to help others to cope. I believe that help starts with the individual and extends to relationships and community. Life is challenging enough and the absence of community adds an extra level of stress. I’d like to be there for others and share what I know.

My areas of focus are the following but not limited to:

  • Bereavement and grief

  • Collective grief and fatigue

  • Burnout

  • Workplace stress

  • Family and friendship relationships
