Being burnout looks differently for everyone and it affects us all in different ways. Here is a list of common signs of burnout.


Emotional

  • Constant exhaustion

  • Cynicism

  • Detachment

  • Irritability

  • Depression


Cognitive & behaviour

  • Withdrawal and loss of interest

  • Procrastination

  • Feeling of dread

  • Lack of motivation

  • Feelings of uselessness

  • Lack of focus or concentration

  • Decreased performance

  • Self-doubt

  • Unhealthy behaviours


Physical

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Fatigue and sluggish

  • Frequent illness

  • Physical aches

  • Changes in appetite

  • Frequent headaches

  • Stomach pain


Social

  • Struggling to care about daily matters

  • Neglecting personal care and hygiene

  • Being withdrawn and avoidance

  • Isolation from friends and family

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Easily agitated and snapping

  • Feeling overwhelmed


Spiritual

  • Loss of interest in ones faith/beliefs

  • Difficulty finding meaning or purpose

  • Spiritual numbness

  • Spiritual detachment

  • Questioning faith/belief
